Experience ParaNuii

Paranuii was previously known as 'Nahnningi' or 'Joy Island' and was a popular picnic and swimming spot. Its many shallow sandy areas form beautiful beaches at low tide making it ideal for swimming and is home to a resident stingray population who flourish in these waters. The Namwen Nahnningi Stingray Sanctuary is located a short a short distance away.

Nan Madol

Just across the lagoon and visible a short distance away are the historic ruins of Nan Madol, one of the world's great archaeological mysteries. This ancient ‘city’ is made up of more than 90 man-made islets and is constructed of large basalt of stones that weight up to 90 tons each – an unexplained engineering feat that rivals the Egyptian Pyramids and Peru’s Machu Picchu.

Nan Madol was a major political hub in these islands from 1200 and 1700 CE, and served as a religious centre, a royal enclave, a fortress, marketplace and trading centre, as well as the high seat of government for the island of Pohnpei. It is a UNESCO Heritage Site and easily accessible to guests staying at ParaNuii Resort.

TESTIMONIALS

"We enjoyed the central meeting area, where two stunning infinity pools overlooked the sea, seamlessly blending sky and water. For those feeling adventurous—or simply playful—there was even a swing suspended over the ocean, offering a moment of carefree joy with every splash. Paranuii is where serenity meets wonder."
